The mirida and giriwa are strong cultural icons and totems to the Ulladulla area. The sand running through it is littered with pippis along the water’s edge. This piece was created as a unique representation of Ulladulla and its strong Cultural ties from yesterday to today and into tomorrow.”

Leanne Brook of Murramarang Arts contributed this artwork in 2026 for the ngulla NAIDOC Festival, celebrating the theme “50 Years of Deadly”.
