Role: Share your culture, story and knowledge

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to share cultural practices at local events in the Ulladulla region, with fair compensation.

Role: Project Officer (Contractor, Part-Time)

We are seeking a skilled contractor (part-time) to support yana‑mba njindiwan’s long‑term planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our Aboriginal Board of Directors on our Strategic and Operational Plans. For example, this will include: 

    • Coordinating small community events and gatherings

    • Networking with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to understand opportunities and shared learnings

    • Meeting with a range of groups to encourage more programs and services in our community, such as Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), schools, preschools, youth services and community groups

  • Strengthen our communication, volunteer engagement and documentation

  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to the Board

Contract Details

  • Part‑time contractor role 

  • Up to $45,000 (gross) per year for 3 years

  • Payment based on outcomes and deliverables (estimated to require approx. 15 hours or 2 days per week)

  • Flexible work arrangements

  • Operate as an independent contractor (ABN required)

Ideal Skills & Experience

Essential skills: 

  • Strong and empathetic communication skills and relationship-building skills 

  • Cultural awareness and ability to work respectfully within Aboriginal community‑led contexts

  • Computer skills (e.g. document formatting, email, online meetings)

Desirable skills: 

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply 

  • Experience in community development, grant management, organisational development or project coordination

  • Strong organisation and time management skills 

  • Experience with governance, planning or partnership coordination
