ngulla project
A community-led project
The ngulla project at the Ulladulla harbour and Civic Centre creates a strong Aboriginal cultural aspect in our town’s central meeting place and improves the amenity of the grounds.
The flat grounds at ngulla have always been places of ceremony, meeting places and camping places since time immemorial. It is possible to honour and restore our cultural knowledge and practices today and do so to benefit the whole community.
This is a community-led project. The Concept was developed by volunteers, Elders and community leaders, led by the vision of Uncle Vic Channell of Murramarang Bagan Cultural Education and volunteers from yana-mba njindiwan (Walking Together), with Egle Janulionyte Landscape Design, Community Connect Southern Shoalhaven and FRRR.
